We are at a critical moment in teacher education. Our social and political contexts have changed significantly over the last 10 years, with new forms of social technologies, media, and activism. Yet, teacher educators rarely have the opportunity to work with peers to re-design and research their own instructional practice and re-think how to prepare teachers for this more connected, yet often divided, world.
The Transformative Teacher-Educator Fellowship is a program that aims to support social justice-oriented teacher educators to grow as teachers and learners through collaborative teaching, scholarship, and learning. A central goal is to transform teacher education, starting with teacher educators, by centering our work on helping pre-service teachers learn to leverage recent innovations in pedagogy and technologies to build networks of learning.
